First Practice and Team Meeting

A telephone call from the coach is the first interaction with a team
parent. Call as soon as the roster is received and include:
1. Introduction of the coach to the parent.
2. Where and when the first practice and team meeting will take place.
3. Inform parents that shin-guards must be worn at all games and
practices. Team Meeting is your opportunity to let parents know
how they can make this and enjoyable experience for their
children and what you expect of them.
4. Designate a team parent.
This parent can schedule parents for half-time drinks and post-
game snacks.
Plan team parties.
Form team telephone chain
E-mail list.
This is a quick/easy way to keep all parents informed.
5. Discuss Guidelines for the Sidelines
Parents are Role Models for all children (both teams).
Encourage respect for the referees. Children learn by what we
do-not what we say.
Ask parents to support your decisions and encourage their
children to cooperate.
Report any situation that does not set a good example for
our children.
