Admission Procedures GENERAL INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES
DOMESTIC (U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens) APPLICANTS for admission to the College of Graduate Studies must submit the following: 1. A completed Graduate Application for Admission. 2. Two (2) official transcripts from each College or University previously attended. Transcript must be sent directly from the institution(s) previously attended to the College of Graduate Studies. Applicants who have attended Georgia Southern University are not required to have GSU transcripts forwarded from the GSU Registrarís Office. 3. Official test scores as required for the selected program. To be official, test scores must be sent to the College of Graduate Studies directly from the testing agency. 4. Other documents as required by the department in which one is proposing study. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS. International applicants for admission to the College of Graduate Studies must submit the following: 1. A completed Graduate Application for Admission 2. Certified Official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended along with certified English translation of official transcripts. * A complete official Evaluation of Foreign Credentials may be presented from a foreign credentials evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). If transcripts cannot be evaluated by the College of Graduate Studies, applicants will be required to have transcripts evaluated by one of the Credential Evaluations Services that are a member of NACES. 3. Certified copy of diploma and Certified English translation of diploma. 4. Official test scores as required for the selected program (to be official, test scores must be sent to the College of Graduate Studies directly from the testing agency 5. Official TOEFL scores not more than two years old. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (213 CAT) is required. TOEFL scores will be waived for International Applicants who have graduated from a U.S. institution or whose native language is English 6. Completed Financial Statement Form. 7. Notarized Certified Bank Statement confirming finance (not over 6 months) 8. Other documents as required by departments or colleges. IV. Additional Application Information 1. There is a nonrefundable application fee of $30.00. 2. Transcripts sent directly from the institution to the College of Graduate Studies at Georgia Southern University must be designated as official. Transcripts marked "Issued to Student" cannot be accepted as official copies and are not acceptable for admission purposes. 3. Materials submitted in support of an application become the property of Georgia Southern University and cannot be forwarded or returned. 4. All applications and supporting documents must be received in the College of Graduate Studies by the semester or term application deadline for which one is applying. 5. Applicants who have not attended GSU previously must provide documentation of immunization against Measles, Mumps and Rubella. International applicants will be required to take a TB test when arriving on campus. 6. Applicants must schedule GRE, MAT, GMAT or TOEFL examinations early so that there is sufficient time for the official score report to be received by the application deadline. DEADLINES
PLEASE NOTE: All application documents including transcripts, official test score reports, letters of reference if required, must be received by the specified application deadline. Depending on the graduate program for which you are applying, one of the following standardized admission test (GMAT, GRE or MAT). See Appendix 1 for information about the degree program test requirement. The TOEFL, GMAT and GRE tests are administered throughout the United States and abroad.
